I had a very excited call from my mum (Freda Nicol, pictured, who recently turned 100) after she received a letter from a former neighbour at Bexley in the 1950s.
We've had no contact with her or her family for decades but when she recognised mum in the Leader, she was so thrilled that she made contact and also said she was going to send the article to some other neighbours that she keeps in touch with.
In the same vein, mum had another contact last week from a volunteer at the Activity Centre, Engadine, which mum attended weekly for a few years until 2010.
This lady recognised mum and was so pleased to see her that she also got in touch.
I'm passing on this news to let you and others at the Leader know that people do take notice of this type of news.
We are very grateful to the Leader.
