IT WAS a trip to the Macedonian city of Ohrid and bustling Istanbul in Turkey that influenced the mosaic exhibition — A Different Angle — at Hazelhurst Regional Gallery, Gymea.
The July 26-August 5 exhibition will feature exquisite examples of the enduring art form made by students inspired by the mosaic tour.
Mosaic teacher Susan Tindall-MacDonald is passionate about reviving the ancient art.
She said the students had been attending mosaic classes for many years at Hazelhurst.
"The theme is an open idea and I wanted to see how the students would interpret this, and I have been amazed at the different angles each person has undertaken," she said.
There are two impressive joint installations with a distinctive Ottoman influence.
