"SOMETIMES the hardest part to getting organised is making a start."
That's the take home message from Kristina Karlsson, the founder and creator of stationary store kikki.K.
Mrs Karlsson said she had always loved keeping things in order and having a clutter-free workspace.
"It helps free your mind from clutter too, so you can focus on whatever it is you need to do, and saves you time in the long run, as you spend less time searching for things," she said.
Mrs Karlsson said her number one tip was to make a place for everything, and keep everything in its place.
"Maximise your working space by keeping all the things you use most regularly within arms' reach — things like files you refer to daily, or stationery that you frequently need," she said.
"Everything else can be filed away in labeled storage and folders.
"Quite simply, the less time you spend searching for files or items otherwise lost in your clutter, the more time you have to spend on the enjoyable things in life.
"We strive to design products that not only look beautiful and make you feel great, but serve a purpose and make your everyday life just a little easier.
"It all came about by something I today refer to as my '3am list'. One night I lay awake thinking about what I was going to do with my life, when my partner encouraged me to make a list of all the things that were important to me.
"It was when I later went about setting up a home office that the idea really sparked. I couldn't find the beautiful stationery and workspace essentials I had grown used to in Sweden, so then it all began."
