WITH the next Living Laneways market on this Saturday, Lauren Seeto is working overtime to make enough items for her stall.
Mrs Seeto loved Rockdale's first Living Laneways market on July 19, which was a big success.
There were 30 stalls selling handmade products while ninja knitters painted King Street Place and nearby lanes in colourful wool, setting the scene for the next theme.
Saturday's market is all about babies and kids and will offer good-quality, new and preloved maternity wear and a wide range of items for youngsters.
Mrs Seeto will sell bibs, cushions, wall hangings, bunting, children's cooking aprons and more.
A designer who has chosen to stay at home while her children are little, Mrs Seeto supplements the family's income with her colourful fabric art and soft furnishings.
"You can say I have a fabric obsession," she said.
Her small business, Lauren Unlimited, mainly deals with online orders.
The themed monthly markets are turning Rockdale's town centre laneways into creative, pedestrian-friendly spaces with shopping, dining, music and opportunities to showcase local artists.
The Baby and Kids market will feature an animal petting zoo, fun rides on large toy animals, trampoline bungee, face painting, art and craft activities, free ping pong, information for parents and live music from Mangrove Swamp.
The council's free child-seat restraint checks on the day are booked out.
