The 'Stop the Mosque in Bendigo' page has been removed by Facebook after a Bendigo resident reported it for hate speech.
The resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, said Facebook's message advising her of the page's removal came through about 3am on Tuesday morning.
She said she chose to report the page to Facebook because it was unfair to Muslims and made her embarrassed.
"I believe the page is hate speech and I don't think that the average Muslim person living in Bendigo should have to see the stuff that was on that page. The page promoted hate, fear and misguided intolerance and made me embarrassed to live in Bendigo," she said.
