STYLISH Occasions started off specialising in high tea but it soon became apparent that customers were clamouring for just one thing: gluten-free.
So owners Juergen and Elizabeth Grabow decided to follow the market and specialise in gluten-free bread products.
The Jannali-based business sells mainly wholesale but loyal customers are happy to visit the no-shopfront bakery to get a loaf or two of the bread.
Gluten-free muffins, in flavours including raspberry, choc chip, and orange and poppy seed, are popular, as is the caramel and chocolate slice.
There are pizza bases and birthday cakes can be ordered in advance but bread is their bread and butter, accounting for 95 per cent of their trade.
About 800 loaves a day, in white and multigrain, are produced in the industrial kitchen and everything is done by hand.
Their products can be found Australia-wide in hotels, cafes and hospitals.
Mr Grabow said the bakery did not use artificial flavours or colours and everything ‘‘tastes real’’.
