After being nominated to do the ALS ice bucket challenge, actress Olivia Wilde decided to do things a little differently.
After accepting the challenge from Glee actress Dianna Argon, among others, the new mum decided not to use water in her ALS challenge.
"I hope it's OK, couldn't find any water so I'm going to use breast milk," Wilde says in the video.
"Took me all night to make this."
She then tips the bucket of milk over her head, squealing "It really is cold!"
Even though she didn't use water the actress put ice in her milk so it would properly count, and from the look of things at the end of the clip she definitely didn't skimp on it.
Before taking the challenge, Wilde made a touching dedication.
"I would like to dedicate this to my friend Scott Lew. I will be donating in your honour," says Wilde.
Scott Lew is a scriptwriter who has had ALS for 10 years, and last year The Atlantic made a short documentary about him called Jujitsu-ing Reality.
Wilde also nominated a New York senator, a feminist, and Prince.
"I would like to nominate Cory Booker, Gloria Steinem and the artist currently known as Prince."
Ever the joker, Wilde later cleared up any confusion as to the real origin of the milk used in her challenge.
"Oh wait some of you thought that was really breast milk? Oh dear," she tweeted.
"Uh thank you? But my boobs aren't that generous. Ha ha."
 
The "breast milk" joke could have been a nod by Wilde to the recent barrage of publicity she received for breastfeeding her son Otis in a photo shoot.
In her shoot for Glamour Magazine's September issue, Wilde posed in a sequined dress while breastfeeding her nude son.
Wilde tweeted one of the photographs from the shoot, saying that not everything had gone to plan.
"Otis ordered milkshakes. Luckily I had some on me. Then he peed on my dress. Good Kid," Wilde tweeted.
Wilde shared the video of her ice bucket challenge via Twitter, and also shared a slow motion version on her Instagram account.
Wilde's fiance Jason Sudeikis was also nominated for the challenge by Argon.
Not to be outdone, Sudeikis accepted the challenge by enduring the longest iced-water shower of the ALS challenge yet.
 
Sudeikis, who was also nominated by former presidential nominee Mitt Romney, stands beside a shipping container door with a friend posed above him holding a bucket of ice.
However the iced water deluge is endless, and a few quick glimpses in the video show the bucket is just a prop to hide the real source of the iced shower,
A thoroughly saturated Sudeikis takes a while to recover, but manages to quip "I hope that's wet enough for you, Governor Romney".
Sudeikis nominated Ben Folds and Rupert Murdoch to take the challenge next.
