THE Bate Bay surf life saving clubs — Cronulla, North Cronulla, Elouera and Wanda — have emerged with a swag of gold, silver and bronze medals from the recent NSW Pool Rescue Championships at Woy Woy.
Cronulla sent 21 competitors and were third overall and first Bate Bay beach winners; all entrants won medals.
North Cronulla had only nine athletes entered — winning an impressive 31 medals: 13 gold, seven silver and 11 bronze.
North Cronulla finished fifth overall and second to Cronulla from the Bate Bay beaches awarded 127 points on the scoreboard. Ethan Garland, Leo Nosatti, Nathan Moyle, Zac Roja and Jeff Garland were medal winners.
Elouera had nine competitors and came seventh. They finished with 16 medals: two gold, 12 silver, two bronze.
Wanda, coached by Australian representative Blake McCrindle, were 12th. This was an impressive result because many members were junior-age competitors.
Nathan Clarke won a gold, silver and bronze, and Keira Warn won a gold and silver.
Elouera sent a small team of nine competitors and came seventh. They finished with 16 medals: two gold, 12 silver, two bronze.
