THE Bulldogs are snapping at the heels of Dragons try-scoring winger Brett Morris for next year.
Bulldogs coach Des Hasler wants the NSW State of Origin and Australian Test player in his kennel next year.
But there is one stumbling block: Morris is under contract until the end of 2015.
The lure for Brett is to reunite with his brother, NSW State of Origin centre, Josh, who has been with the Bulldogs since 2009.
The Dragons won't make any official comment on the matter.
The Leader understands that Hasler wants Morris to play fullback to bolster their attack.
Dragons coach Paul McGregor wants Morris to remain and be a part of the revival at the club. The Dragons are not keen on releasing Morris.
A backline with Morris, Jason Nightingale, Josh Dugan, Gerard Beale has plenty of try-scoring ability.
McGregor has named a 20-man squad for the clash against Brisbane tomorrow night, at Suncorp Stadium.
