US cable network HBO has commissioned a new television project from Kiwi comedy duo Flight of the Conchords.
The pair, Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement, describe themselves as "the almost award-winning, fourth-most-popular folk duo in New Zealand".
HBO has not formally announced the project, however Clement confirmed it in an interview with The Guardian newspaper.
The series, which as yet has no title, will be a four-part comedy.
Clement told The Guardian that he, McKenzie and James Bobin, the venture's lead director, were keen to do another project.
"We all want to do a musical," he said. "It would be good to do something all together."
McKenzie and Clement previously starred in an HBO comedy, also titled Flight of the Conchords, which ran for two seasons between 2007 and 2009.
It followed their exploits, as a two-man band in New York, trying to crack the music industry.
During its run, the series won wide acclaim, and secured 10 Emmy Award nominations, including one for outstanding comedy series.
It was also nominated for awards from America's Writer's Guild and the Television Critics Association.
Since the series ended, talk has persisted of reunion tours and of a film adaptation of the series.
The reunion tour, which took place in 2012 in New Zealand, was sold out within 10 minutes.
