From Cronulla's coastal shores to the red carpet runway in the Big Apple, Sutherland Shire fashion designer Amy Taylor is set to take New York by couture storm.
Amy has been chosen to be part of the Fashion Palette runway show on September 6 in the city that never sleeps
The event showcases independent fashion designers, gives them a platform to connect with global buyers and stylists, and gives designers the chance to expand their brand on a larger scale.
Since she began her label Amy Taylor Collections at age 20, the blonde darling of Cronulla's fashion design scene has moved towards more sophisticated styles.
Now a mum-of-one who launched a boutique 12 months ago in the Strand Arcade, Sydney, Amy will display her latest creations on catwalk central alongside Aussie bridal designer Steven Khalil.
But her inspiration isn't too far from the sand, sun and surf.
Add a splash of Marilyn Monroe and Brigitte Bardot radiance, and the new range is reminiscent of Amy's childhood beach boho days.
“I design for a woman who knows how to hold herself, with inner beauty and independence,'' Amy said.
"She is fun-loving, doesn't try to be sexy but glows as she enters a room."
Expect soft, elegant silk, beading and backless figure-hugging frocks in soft pearl pink, eye-popping red or classic white jumpsuits.
