HURSTVILLE Council has changed the opening hours of its permanent electronic waste collection service at its works depot.
The free service now operates every Saturday between 8am and noon at Depot Road, Mortdale.
It is no longer open to the public on weekdays.
Materials accepted include televisions, computers, monitors, printers, scanners, faxes, DVDs, stereos, speakers, VCRs, mobile phones, chargers, power tools, kitchen appliances, microwaves, electrical cables, toners, ink cartridges, hard drives, camera equipment and vacuum cleaners.
Items not accepted include gas bottles, white goods (fridges, washing machines), household batteries, airconditioners and photocopiers.
Hurstville mayor Jack Jacovou is encouraging residents to take advantage of the opportunity to dispose of unwanted electronic appliances free-of-charge.
"The permanent electronic waste collection service is a great opportunity for residents to spring clean their home or office and get rid of any electric items that are no longer working," he said.
