Fees will range from $3 to $40 when paid parking is introduced at Westfield Miranda.
A three-week free trial of the new system will begin on Monday, October 13, three days before the first stage of the redevelopment opens.
Motorists will start paying from Monday, November 3.
After the first three free hours of parking, fees will be:
3-3.5 hours, $3; 3.5-4 hours, $4; 4-4.5 hours, $6; 4.5-5 hours, $9, 5-5.5 hours, $12; 5.5-6 hours, $15; 6-6.5 hours, $20, 6.5-7 hours, $30; 7-7.5 hours, $35; 7.5 hours and over, $40.
Details were announced on the Westfield website.
‘‘The new parking system, Plan, Park, Go, operates on a license plate recognition system where a camera on entry and exit of the car park captures your license plate,’’ the company said.
‘‘On entry to the car park, there will be a digital clock displaying your time of entry; remember the time you entered as you will not be issued with a ticket.
‘‘When you’ve finished your shopping and if you are under three hours, proceed straight to the exit.
‘‘The parking system will recognise your license plate number and the boom gate will open automatically.
‘‘If your visit to the car park is more than three hours, head to one of the many pay stations, enter your licence plate number and pay the parking fee.
‘‘Drive to the exit where the system will recognise your parking payment and the boom gate will open automatically.
‘‘Alternatively, you can register at www.parkwestfield.com.au from Monday, October 13, to have your parking fee automatically deducted from your credit card.’’
The company said customers who registered online could receive free SMS notifications of their entry time and a reminder of their licence plate.
Customers with an authorised disabled parking permit would be able to park free all day but would have to register once during the period of their permit.
The company said movie-goers would be able to get their parking ticket validated to receive an extra one hour of free parking.
