If you think it’s almost flat today-you ain't seen nothing yet! Swellnet reports that this 2-3ft nor east swell is going, going gone by tomorrow where it’s going to sit around 6 inches…..if we’re lucky.
There were some secret ones to be had at a "Southern Sydney reef break” which is where I took today's pictures, if you like sitting on a postage stamp with some of your mates that is.
I had a surf at the Alley for about 20 mins before the Nor East invasion occured, so it was obvious where to head to.
The winds are a bit summerish with Nor Westers and Nor Easters the order of the day before a new 2-3ft southely swell is due to arrive on Saturday - don’t waste it either because it's gone on Sunday.
The water temperature will wake you up, that’s for sure, with all the freshwater making a dark, cold start to the spring season.
The Swatch Women's Pro Trestles, stop No. 7 of 10 on the 2014 Samsung Galaxy ASP Women's World Championship Tour, was called ON today for Round 1-3. The Swatch Women’s Pro Trestles runs in conjunction with the Hurley Pro at Trestles and the events run from Tuesday, September 9, until Saturday, September 20, 2014 and will be webcast LIVE via aspworldtour.com. So if you think the woman are ripping wait until the men start up.
"Today looks like the biggest day for the next three or four days and we're going to be starting with the women," said ASP Women's Commissioner Jessi Miley-Dyer. "It's looking really fun, probably 3 to 4 foot, and I think it's going to be a great day. I'm so happy that the women have this event and I think we really deserve to have a wave like Trestles".
My money's on Taj Burrow in the ”surfpicks” even though he is the defending champion - I have used everyone else.

Meanwhile on the QS, Jesse Mendes (BRA) 21, has won the ASP Prime SATA Azores Pro in windy 2-to-3-foot surf, defeating Joan Duru (FRA) 25, in an exciting 35-minute final. Mendes also takes an early lead in the Portuguese Waves Series - Cascais Trophy, a series of three events comprised of Azores, the Cascais Billabong Pro and Moche Rip Curl Pro Peniche, that will offer a bonus $50,000 to the overall winner. Yadin Nicol (AUS) placed equal 3rd and Connor had a shocker and was bundled out first round.
In Sydney, due to out-of-control four-to-six foot waves on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, the first Wahu Surfer Groms Comp for 2014/2015 was forced to relocate from its home base of Dee Why to the mellower option of Collaroy, where competitors were met with long-running two-foot righthanders.
Three champions were crowned across the Under-10 Boys’ and Girls’ division as well as the highly competitive Under-12 Girls’ division.
The Under-10 Girls saw a see-sawing battle between the three man field of Kiahni Scott (Collaroy, NSW), Cronulla’s Ruby Griffiths and Bodhi Simon (Port Kembla, NSW). However it was local surfer Kiahni Scott who managed to get the overall win based on her accumulative total from both finals.
Surfers in Under-16 and Under-18 divisions will be vying for top honours in the brand new Subway Summer Surf Series when the first competition of the 13-event series kicks off on Sydney’s Northern Beaches this weekend.

They, along with viewers on YouTube and other online platforms, watched 2.2 million hours of the live webcast, with 45-percent of the online audience watching on a mobile device.
Let's face it, it was probably the best ever contest to watch-pity the semi with Slater and John John wasn’t the final. Anyway till next week!
