BASEBALLERS Ethan Stacy, 13, of Menai, and Zac Lawrence, 13, of Connells Point, are striking top form at international level.
The pair recently played in for the Australian under-13 team at the Cal Ripkin World Series in the US.
The teenagers excelled in the national age side at the big event held in Aberdeen, a Maryland city on Chesapeake Bay. Ethan plays for llawong Marlins Baseball Club and Zac with Cronulla.
The two mates have played against each other at club level for several years and together in representative teams; Ethan plays shortstop and Zac is a catcher.
Ethan's mother Melinda Humphry said the boys and the team did extremely well, winning four of their six games.
"We beat Mexico, who won the international sector of the competition," she said.
Ethan won the Gold Glove award for shortstop in the international section and received most valuable player award in the game against the Republic of Korea.
Melinda Humphry said it was the most successful Australian team which had competed at the Cal Ripkin World Series.
