A 21-year-old Blakehurst tertiary student has won a $15,000 scholarship.
As a fourth-year University of Sydney student Leah Zinonos has a year to go before finishing a double degree in commerce and law.
"Long term I'd like to be able to influence society and work in a company with the ability to effect change," Ms Zinonos said.
She sees herself working in a consulting or finance role.
She has travelled already, having been an exchange student at the University of California in 2012 and she sees the scholarship as a way of helping her to travel again.
The recent scholarship win is from the Boston Consulting Group as a decade-old award given to students for financial support and as recognition.
BCG has granted $170,000 in scholarships to students in Australia and New Zealand.
Scholarship winners are selected for creativity, teamwork, communication and academic work.
Ms Zinonos has been a youth ambassador at the Museum of Contemporary Art, and is interested in sport and social justice.
Ms Zinonos said she hoped to gain industry experience to analyse and influence the strategy of companies, government organisations and the not-for-profit sector.
Recently she spent some time in BCG's Athens office.
BCG is a global management consulting company and an adviser on business strategy. It is in partnership with clients from the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors.
