ST GEORGE and Sutherland Shire netball associations have won State League division premierships.
Third division minor premiers St George won the State League title match played at the Anne Clark Netball Centre on Saturday with a 55-30 win over Northern Suburbs.
This comes on top of the St George's State League first division team's recent win, making it a double for the district in 2014.
St George District Netball Association secretary Lara Mina said it had been a terrific season at representative level, winning two Netball NSW titles.
"It's been a wonderful year for the association. And congratulations to the third division team, it's such a fantastic achievement," Mina said.
"It was great to see the depth of skill and poise that the girls displayed throughout the game. They stuck to the game plan and reaped the rewards."
In the second division grand final, Sutherland defeated Eastwood Ryde, 51-41.
Sutherland led 25-21 at half-time and were dominant in the final quarter to win the grand final.
Sutherland finished the regular season in third place and handed Eastwood Ryde their first loss of the season in the game that mattered most.
"A brilliant result — what a tremendous effort to beat the undefeated team. We are so proud of our girls who worked so hard and never gave up," Sutherland Shire Netball Association president Maria Bettini said.
