THE Wildbloods are a rock'n'roll band of brothers, bonded not by blood but the love of music.
Based in Sutherland Shire, they will kick off their first national tour by promoting their new single, Tattoos and Pole Dancing starting at The Valve Bar in George Street, Sydney, on September 26 (formerly The Agincourt Hotel).
"We're all excited to go on tour and it's the first time playing outside of Sydney," said lead singer Alexander Morellini.
They will do Sydney dates before heading to Wollongong, Gold Coast, Katoomba, Newcastle, Canberra and Wagga Wagga, with a home town gig at Studio 6, Sutherland, on Friday, November 21.
The band — Jared Champion, Joshua Hogan, Alexander Morellini and Justin Morellini — are friends and cousins in real life but on stage take on alter egos and become the Wildblood brothers.
"It enables us to let loose a bit more on stage and disconnect from our lives outside of music," Alexander said.
He said the band were essentially rock'n'roll but drew on a few sub-genres — indie, grunge, punk and pop — to make their sound.
"We're a big fan of many Australian artists and their songwriting styles, he said. "One would be Missy Higgins and the way she sings with her accent."
The band have been performing for two years and plan to record their first album at the end of the year.
