EACH year organisers of the popular Lugarno Spring Festival come up with new attractions, just to give the 40,000 people expected at the event something else to have fun with.
This year Lugarno Lions have come up with the La Petite Grande mini circus and the 7D Cinema.
On the outside, La Petite Grande is a gorgeous mini-circus tent; on the inside it is full of surprises.
The interior decor continues the opulent 1920s art deco theme, with rich fabrics and decadent comforts — and the tent is packed with world-class short, sharp and silly circus comedy acts.
This allows people to come in and out of the tent and see a variety of entertainment without committing more than 15 minutes of their time.
The circus has appeared at the Edinburgh Festival and in Germany.
The 7D Cinema is all about the newest technology in virtual reality. Instead of just looking at a movie, the audience will feel part of the movie as seven special effects kick in during a thrilling ride.
Festival chairman Mike Butler, from Lugarno Lions Club, said the 2014 event was shaping up to be the biggest in the club's history.
"We have kept all the best events from previous years and added some exciting new attractions," he said.
Other attractions
■ Free entry to the park and free entertainment provided by talented local performers on two stages;
■ Medieval jousting and equestrian events;
■ More than a dozen carnival rides, including two new ones, the UFO and Breakdance;

■ At least 180 stalls with arts and crafts, memorabilia, delicious international food,
and more.
The Lions club uses festival proceeds to support its many humanitarian projects throughout the community.
The 35th Lugarno Spring Festival is on Sunday, September 20, from 9am-4.30pm, at Gannons Park, Peakhurst.
