A COLOURFUL display of art was the focus at Moorefield Girls High School, Kogarah, recently.
The school hosted its first art festival, which included major works by HSC students and visual arts and photography students.
The administration building was transformed into an art gallery for two days, giving the community the chance to see the impressive works.
The festival was a joint venture between 3Bridges Community, which provides services for young people through its Hurstville YouthZone service, and Arncliffe Community Centre.
Ten primary schools were also invited to participate in an art competition around the theme My Family, My Culture, and the pupils' works were displayed.
The project was funded by the NAB School's First Award Program, which aims to promote excellence in school/community partnerships.
Eighteen girls from the school organised the event after completing a leadership course to learn about marketing, communication, team work and project management.
