Discarded Sharks five-eighth Todd Carney has signed a three-year contract with Catalan Dragons.
The French-based club play in the British Super League.
The signing was hailed as a coup by Catalan chairman Bernard Guasch.
‘‘We are delighted that a such talented player chose our club despite a fierce competition with other Super League and rugby union clubs,’’ Guasch said.
Carney, 28, was sacked by the Sharks in late June for a vulgar act circulated widely on social media.
He had been sacked by Canberra Raiders and Sydney Roosters for disciplinary problems before joining the Sharks.
