Fullback Michael Gordon, the only player to compete in the 24 Sharks NRL games this season, has received four major awards at the Monty Porter Medal Night held this week at Cronulla Leagues Club.
He received the medal as the Pontifex player of the year and was named the NRL players’ player, Sharks player of the year and members’ player of the year.
Gordon, 30, said he was humbled by the awards.
Gordon had followed Sharks captain Paul Gallen’s footsteps by being a back-to-back winner of the Sharks player of the year award.
He scored six tries and kicked 50 goals this season, providing stability and experience when other players were hampered by injury and suspension.
Promising winger Jacob Gagan, 21, was named the Steve Rogers rookie of the year.
