FILMMAKER Sage Scroope, formerly from Bardwell Park and now living and working in the US, has received a string of awards for her films during the US annual festival season.
"We have had a great festival season," Sage said.
Two Scroope films, The Escape, which she wrote, and The Debt Collector, which she produced, received awards in the US and at international festivals in South Africa, Wales and England.
The Escape just missed out on making the top 10 for consideration for an Academy Award.
"Being invited to international film festivals is a wonderful feeling," Sage said.
"It means people have heard about a particular film or have seen it at other festivals, and because it made an impact they track me down to request it for screening."
The next move for Sage is to work in feature films: "But as contracts haven't yet been finalised I don't want to get ahead of myself by giving out details just yet," she said.
"It has so far been a lot of good hard work; I just feel I have been lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time."
