CHILDREN and the community are joining together for an event that will bring necessary funds back into a growing school.
Hurstville South Public School will host a Lego display on October 12.
Businesses have sponsored the St George Brick Fair, which will display some of the best Lego creators in Australia.
Money raised will go towards an expansion of the school's playground, which is needed to cater for increased enrolments.
The school's P&C vice-president Warren Mak hopes the fair will become a regular event.
"A lot of schools run fetes, but this provides something a little bit different," he said.
"Lego is loved by young and old and it provides an amazing creative opportunity to young, growing minds.
"Going forward, it can be an event where young Lego builders can continue to showcase their creativity."
Children can enter a competition to make a stop-motion video about the fair. The master builder video competition closes at 10pm, October 8.
