THE bounce will be a little more predictable on a new new multi-purpose court to be constructed at Kurnell.
One of the two existing tennis courts at Kurnell Community Sport and Recreation Club is cracked so badly that players are banned from using it.
A state government grant of $25,000 will provide a new, all-weather facility that school groups and local clubs will be able to use without charge.
Danielle Wilkie, office manager at Kurnell Community Sport and Recreation Club, said the proposed new facility would be "great" for all age levels.
"Our other court is used by lots of people, including children from the school and a ladies' tennis club," she said.
Cronulla MP Mark Speakman said the new facility would "fill a big gap".
"There is no multi-purpose court anywhere at Kurnell, not even at the primary school, even though there are more than 400 children in the area," he said "The nearest one is 10 kilometres away.
"Those who will regularly use it will include Kurnell Public School students and local rugby league and netball players."
