Josh Dugan, Brett Morris and Trent Merrin from St George Illawarra Dragons have been ruled out of the Australian Kangaroos train-on squad because of their injuries.
The players had been named in the squad by coach Tim Sheens ahead the Four Nations Tournament in October.
Centre Dugan injured his thumb in the final 2014 game against Newcastle Knights.
His X-rays confirmed a small fracture in his thumb; he will be wearing a splint for four weeks.
Forward Merrin and winger Morris will have surgery later this week to correct shoulder injuries received in the State of Origin series.
Morris, who is expected to be sidelined for up to four months, is scheduled to start pre-season training in February.
Morris and Merrin, who are off-contract at the end of next season, have attracted the attention of other NRL clubs.
Former Dragons coach Wayne Bennett, now in charge at Brisbane Broncos, is keen to get Merrin to head north in 2016 and beyond.
In other news, Dragons forwards Jack Stockwell and Dan Hunt have been told their services are no longer required.
Dragons coach Paul McGregor told the pair after end-of-season interviews with all players.
Centre Dylan Farrell, who has had two operations for torn pectoral muscles, is on the lookout for a new club and utility back Gerard Beale has been linked with Cronulla for next season.
Will the injuries to Brett Morris, Josh Dugan and Trent Merrin affect the team’s chances in 2015?
