VINCE Duverge's YouTube channel was No. 1 is his home country of Mauritius.
Now living at Allawah, the SAE Sydney Film student is hoping to forge a film career in Sydney.
The 19-year-old moved to Australia to study film at SAE, and since arriving early this year has already been awarded a few nods at local and international film festivals.
He won best script, best actor and best film at the Short Stuff Film Festival in Kogarah, and was a people's choice finalist in the Rode Reel international film festival.
Having started out making comedies for the web he now dreams of making feature films and becoming an actor.
"When I left Mauritius my channel was No.1; that was so unexpected and people were stopping me in shopping centres to get my picture," he said.
"They were comedies about everyday life and I'd shoot, edit the whole thing."
Since arriving in Sydney, Duverge has tackled some heavier topics and has made a short film called Young Deals about a female drug dealer, partly inspired by the Breaking Bad TV series.
"I really wanted to direct something and this was something completely different to what I was doing in Mauritius," he said.
Duverge is working on a script for another upcoming short film.
