CRONULLA Public School pupils recently learned about the importance of recycling from TerraCycle founder Tom Szaky.
Mr Szaky visited the school to explain that many household objects can have a second lease of life.
Mr Szaky told students that beauty packaging and oral care waste such as used toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes and floss containers could be diverted from landfill and re-used.
The school community has started collecting such items and the school receives 2¢ for every piece collected.
TerraCycle also recycles cigarette butts and used coffee pod capsules among other items.
