AEROBIC gymnastics competitor Deborah Greenbaum is becoming used to success.
The Blakehurst teenager has proved an outstanding aerobic and artistic gymnastics competitor at the top level, becoming a winner in major competitions across both sports.
She recently accomplished the impressive feat of winning consecutive national titles at the 2014 Australian Aerobic Gymnastics Championships in Brisbane.
Greenbaum, 17, won the elite age group 2 division.
Leading from the start, she was just 0.1 points ahead of the second-placed competitor after the qualifying rounds.
The competition was fierce in the final, but she was able to hang on for the gold, 0.05 points ahead of the silver medallist, thereby claiming back-to-back national titles.
Her campaign was topped off by being announced in the 2014-15 Gymnastics Australia National Squad as well as being named Australian Aerobic Gymnastic Junior Athlete of the Year.
The consecutive national titles come on top of her state championship triumph in July.
In May she won two bronze medals at the Australian Women's Artistic Gymnastics Championships.
Greenbaum said similar skills were needed in aerobic and artistic gymnastics.
"I train six days a week," she said, adding that support from her family has been crucial.
The 155 centimetre-tall athlete said her sports required discipline and hard work.
She trains for aerobic gymnastics at Lauren's Academy of Aerobics and Fitness and artistic gymnastics at Pymble Ladies College Gymnastics. She is now aiming at World Cup trials to be held in January in Canberra.a
