COMPOSTING just became easier for residents after Hurstville, Kogarah and Rockdale councils joined the Compost Revolution.
Thirteen Sydney councils are part of the NSW Environmental Protection Authority initiative to reduce and recycle food and organic waste.
As part of the project, up to 2600 tonnes of organic waste will be recycled to help protect the environment and cut costs for councils.
Under the initiative, residents can get access to discounted compost bins and worm farms.
They need to complete a tutorial and quiz at compostrevolution.
com.au; and can then purchase their own compost bin or worm farm at half price from the Compost Revolution website, which will be delivered free.
The website and tutorial are in simplified Chinese, Vietnamese, Arabic, Greek and Italian.
