ST George Cricket Club's No. 1 member Michael Free has challenged club president Kevin Greene to do his bit for charity.
Free, who is president of Club Rivers, urged Greene to take the Ice Bucket Challenge.
Greene accepted and will feel the cold for charity at 7 tonight at Hurstville Oval.
He will be doused in cold water and ice after the club's senior grades training and junior representative team's presentation.
"All moneys will go to St George and Sutherland Medical Research Foundation," Greene said.
"I believe it is important for our players to see that as a club we are also a part of our local community.
"While our focus is cricket and we have a magnificent playing history, there are many aspects to life and we should be prepared to do our bit to help others."
He said Club Rivers was donating $1000, as well as Hurstville and Kogarah councils and Georges River St George District Cricket Association.
He said the community could support
the fund-raiser with donations to www.icarereseach.com.au
