TWO Sutherland Shire students won medals at this year's WorldSkills Australia, a national competition that rewards young people for dedication to their developing careers in the trades industry.
The federal government-supported event in Perth last month brought together the nation's best trainees, apprentices and students for three days of competition.
It gave youth the opportunity to showcase their skills among their peers in more than 50 categories.
Engadine's Daniel Conaghan, 22, won the gold medal for landscape construction while Heathcote's Blake Holden won bronze for autobody repair.
They will now have the chance to secure scholarships in their chosen fields.
