BAY Babes, with the support of Southgate Shopping Centre, is calling on the Sutherland Shire community to unleash their inner artist in the name of breast cancer awareness.
This follows the success of last year's Paint It Pink art competition for all age groups, which raises funds to help families battling breast cancer.
The competition invites community members to produce a piece of visual art with a pink theme.
All contestants are asked to pay a $10 entry fee, with all proceeds going to Bay Babes, a non-profit organisation based in the shire.
Bay Babes president Chris Callinan is urging all budding artists to show their support for the competition and get involved to help raise funds for local oncologists and recently diagnosed women in the area.
"As Australian women have a one-in-eight lifetime risk of developing breast cancer, projects such as Paint it Pink play an important role in Bay Babes' aim to raise awareness and much-needed funds for breast cancer research and support," Ms Callinan said.
Southgate Shopping Centre general manager Donna Karanfilovski said the centre had worked with Bay Babes for a number of years.
To enter Paint it Pink, customers can pick up a blank canvas from Southgate's management office until October 23 and return their artwork by October 24.
Judging will take place on October 27, with prizes to be won in a number of categories.
Entrants' artworks will be displayed at Southgate until November 2.
