MEN and women are invited to attend the annual Reclaim the Night event at Cronulla on Friday, October 24.
Organised by Shire Community Services, the family-friendly event will include performances by dancers and musicians.
Social worker Pippa Dean urged people to participate in the event that campaigns against violence against women.
"It is an inclusive event and everyone is welcome," she said.
Shire Community Services manager Elizabeth O'Neill said it was important that men participated in the walk to show others that they stood for a violent-free society.
"We want to get the message out there that it is OK for women to go out alone at night," she said.
"We are raising awareness that violence against women is a reality."
Miss Dean said it was important that everyone felt safe in the community.
The easy walk kicks off from the stage at Cronulla Plaza at 6.30pm and heads down along The Esplanade before finishing back at the stage.
