KINGSGROVE Music, Bexley, has extended its valuable educational benefits to the community since 1955.
With six studios and a shop full of instruments, it was established by the Turner family, who have continued the long tradition of providing excellence in music teaching.
Highly experienced teachers (who are also professional musicians) are selected based on their engaging personalities, musical ability and a love of sharing in the joy of making music.
"We are now up to our third generation of musicians," Susan Turner said.
"We live by the philosophy that music is fun, and that enables the creativity of a child to emerge."
She said music development was important because it helped children build their skills in problem solving, co-ordination, confidence, teamwork, concentration and ability to follow instruction.
"For this reason, we are seeking to expand our musical programs for children with special needs and for infants, toddlers and preschool children," Mrs Turner said.
"Our early childhood programs take advantage of the child's natural instinct to play, while introducing them to movement, song and
dance."
