ALEX Gersbach is the middle of his HSC exams but he passed his biggest football test for Sydney FC against Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday at Allianz Stadium.
The Sutherland Shire Football Association junior played left fullback for the Sydney FC outfit in the A-League local derby.
Although the teenager had played in pre-season matches, this was his first A-League starting game.
Sydney FC won 3-2, coming from behind to run down their rivals.
A bumper crowd of 41,213 turned up for the game which had its drama, own goals, tension and excitement.
Another Sutherland Shire Football Association local product, defender, Antony Golec started for the Wanderers who had Vitor Saba sent off, reducing them to 10 men.
