THE conditions were just right on Saturday to make Oatley Village Fair the best one yet.
Festival co-ordinator Bryan Pirie, of Oatley Lions Club, put the success down to the weather, which created almost perfect conditions, and the dedicated band of volunteers.
"We had the best team of volunteers ever," he said. "They were fantastic."
"By lunchtime the streets of Oatley were packed — there was a lot of action throughout. Trash and Treasure was a massive success, with last year's takings of $3000 reached by 10.30am. Overall the Trash and Treasure raised over $6000."
The day raised more than $30,000 all up, which will be distributed to Children's Cancer Research Fund, 3Bridges Community youth program, Georges River College (Oatley) Campus, State Emergency Service and St John Ambulance.
