UPDATE:
Transport officials say a girl, who was observed near the railway tracks, caused a brief delay for trains on the Illawarra line during the morning peak.
‘‘Trains at Kogarah railway station were delayed for five minutes after a girl was detected near the tracks at 7.37am today,’’ said a Transport for NSW spokesman.
‘‘Sydney Trains removed the girl and NSW Police are investigating.’’
Rail commuter Marc Tatossian said he saw ‘‘a girl emerge from the tunnel [with] blood and dirt on her jumper’’.
‘‘She was completely dazed and confused,’’ he said.
‘‘She looked about 15 and was wearing a grey jumper.
‘‘A rail worker approached her and she walked away.’’
