MELISSA Goman of Mortdale is about to star as the rebellious Sister Robert Anne in the evergreen musical favourite Nunsense.
She will be joined on stage by Leonie Johnson, of Cronulla, who plays the outwardly stern but soft-hearted Reverend Mother.
Adele Gillies of Woronora is in the cast of nuns at the Bankstown Arts Centre, Olympic Parade from Friday.
Nunsense originated in the US as a line of greeting cards, then a cabaret which evolved into the show to become the second longest running off-Broadway production in history.
"I love the irreverence of it but at the same time it's very clever and an affectionate look at a group of people — Catholic nuns — that few of us would really know," Goman said.
The comedy follows the nuns who remain alive in the convent after Sister Julia accidentally killed the rest with her soup.
