THE goal was to reach $100,000 for the Sydney Children's Hospital Foundation, Randwick — but instead more than $130,000 was raised.
The Highland Property Agents Blue Lunch fund-raiser was held at Sealevel restaurant, Cronulla.
Last year the same organisation raised more than $16,000 for breast cancer at the annual event.
This year Highlands threw their support behind the children's foundation.
It helps to prevent and to treat illness and injury in children.
The foundation provides financial assistance for equipment, research and clinical services at the hospital.
The fund-raiser was supported by Sylvania BMW, Tribe Social Fitness and other local businesses.
There were 182 people at the lunch including a number of clowns who otherwise might have been recognised as Highland Property Agents staff.
The clowns showed off with tricks and banter, and the magician David donated his time for the cause.
There was a live auction with all funds raised going directly to the charity.
The highest bids of the day were placed for a Fiji holiday package for two people, donated by Kim Newton of MTA Travel, and a game fishing day at Port Stephens, donated by Hayden Fretten of Dick Rowe Marine.
Each sold for an impressive $5000.
For two months Highland Property Agents sold tickets for a raffle for a BMW 116i hatch valued at $44,000.
Belinda Smith was the winner of the car.
The runner-up prize, a 12-month membership and 10 personal training sessions at Tribe Social Fitness valued at $2000, was won by Katie Smith.
