TEN years ago three Picnic Point brothers united to focus on fund-raising for leukaemia research but today only one of them is able to continue the tradition.
One sibling Matthew Rennie died of the blood cancer at 24, three years after his diagnosis and was able to attend only the first two fund-raisers.
Shaun Rennie is the last man standing and due to be part of the final Light The Night concert.
Other brother and fellow singer/actor Adam Rennie is now touring the US in the lead role of Flashdance and is unable to get back to Sydney.
"I don't know yet what I'll be performing. It will be a surprise but it will be something to mark the 10th anniversary," Shaun said.
"The concert is Matthew's legacy."
If Matthew's legacy is the concert, Shaun's legacy is a trail of showbiz triumphs such as his roles in Mamma Mia and Cats.
Already concerts have raised more than $400,000 for The Arrow Bone Marrow Transplant Foundation, targeting a cure for leukaemia.
Among the acts at the concert will be YouTube's Jan van de Stool and musical theatre favourites Lucy Durack (Wicked, Legally Blonde) and Trevor Ashley (Priscilla Queen of The Desert, Les Misérables).
Jazz chanteuse Emma Pask, who was plucked out of a Kirrawee High School audience by Australian virtuoso James Morrison, will perform.
There will be guest appearances by past hosts including Rob Mills (Grease, Legally Blonde) and TV host Brendan Moar (Dry Spell Gardening).
All money raised from the concert will go towards the research grant that supports a new gene control in an acute leukaemia project being undertaken by St Vincent's Hospital's haematology research team.
