NEW parking restrictions are planned for President Avenue, Kogarah, to speed up traffic and improve safety.
Roads and Maritime Services has invited public feedback on three options that would apply on both sides of President Avenue between West Botany Street and O'Neill Street.
The affected area adjoins parkland and sports fields, and stops short of houses.
All three options would ban parking during peak periods and impose limits at other times.
Roads and Maritime Services said a major benefit would be improved road safety by reducing the risk of crashes for motorists turning left on to President Avenue from West Botany Street.
The options are:
■Two-hour parking on both sides of President Avenue from 8am to 3pm, Monday to Saturday.
■Four-hour parking on both sides of President Avenue from 8am to 3pm, Monday to Saturday.
■No parking on both sides of President Avenue from 8am to 3pm, Monday to Saturday.
