NSW police have released images of two men after an attempted robbery at Allawah last month.
The robbery is believed to be linked to 14 other armed robberies committed across Sydney in the past two months.
In Allawah, two men attempted to rob a hotel on Sunday, September 7.
Other robberies were around south-west Sydney including at Bankstown, Kellyville, Padstow, Fairfield and Villawood.
In some of the robberies, two men entered businesses armed with a pistol and demanded cash from employees before fleeing.
Strike Force Tuft has been established to investigate the robberies and has released CCTV images of two men.
One man is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, 175 centimetres tall, medium build and wearing high visibility clothing.
The second man is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, 180 centimetres tall with a medium or solid build.
Police have also released an image of a vehicle similar to the one used during the robberies.
Metropolitan Robbery Unit Detective Inspector Adam Barwick said the majority of the robberies were committed in the morning.
‘‘The men conducting the armed robberies are brazen in their attacks and have been conducting them in broad daylight,’’ he said.
“We believe the robberies are all linked with the men involved known to use and threatened people with a firearm
‘‘During some of the robberies the men have been seen leaving the area in an early model white-coloured Kia Carnival van with dark tinted windows and roof racks.’’
Anyone with information about the identity of the men should contact the Metropolitan Robbery Unit on 9375 8444.
