THERE is not too much that lawn bowler Katrina Wright hasn't done in her sport.
She has represented her country at the highest level against the best in women's lawn bowls.
The former Australian player has won a host of tournaments and big events in her bowls journey.
It's been three years since she played for her country, and Wright said the desire was still strong to wear the green and gold.
"I just missed making the Commonwealth Games team this year," she said.
The Taren Point Bowling Club player recently won the Australian Champion of Champions singles title.
She defeated South Australian Sue Coltas 21-12 on home turf at Taren Point Bowling Club.
"It was pouring rain," Wright said.
She may have been drenched but she had a big smile after the victory.
Wright has produced a unique feat.
"I'm the only women's player to win the Australian Champion of Champions, Australian Open Singles and the Australian Indoor Championship," she said.
The 33-year-old said she was very proud of the achievement.
But the McGrath real estate sales agent still has her feet firmly planted on terra firma.
She knows that sport can be like a roller-coaster ride — you are on an upward spiral one minute or quickly on the slide the next.
Wright previously played for Taren Point and along the way represented other clubs.
"It's good to be back at Taren Point," she said.
"The club feels like home."
Wright will represent Australia at
the World Singles titles on November
16-22 next year at Helensvale Bowls Club
on the Gold Coast.
