My daughter was visiting from Melbourne and last Saturday my wife and I took her to Sydney for some shopping.
Returning by train we changed at Sutherland for the 2.23pm train to Engadine.
On board was a group of youths running about the upper area throwing a tennis ball. Imagine our horror to see this ball was covered in faeces.
Other passengers alighting from the train were literally gagging from the smell. I alighted and informed the guard who said he knew who they were and would have a word with them.
To compound the matter my daughter was so disgusted that she forgot her shopping and left it on the train.
When we arrived home we phoned Waterfall railway station and the attendant went to look for the shopping bag.
The bag was found with the receipt but no other contents.
I hope the guard did confront these youths and that the carriage was cleaned before it recirculated the rail system.
