PHYLLIS Foundis of Brighton-Le-Sands wanted to pay tribute to her father and in doing so began a new journey into community television.
Her achievements have now been recognised by the industry.
Her Foxtel show Foundis, of which she is both the presenter and executive producer, is a talk show for men and those who love them.
"We talk about the physical, emotional and mental health of men and it is essentially the antidote of The Footy Show, and reality shows of that ilk," she said.
"The show gets to the heart of the matter and the hearts, souls and minds of men, and all the things that are left by the wayside when the focus is on balls, breasts and bathroom renovations."
This month Foundis was named outstanding female personality at the 2014 Antenna Awards and gave an emotional acceptance speech thanking her late father.
"Foundis began as a tribute to my father to get to the heart of what men think," she said.
Topics included relationships, sex, fatherhood and careers.
