Thousands of unclaimed items will go under the hammer on Tuesday as part of Sydney Airport’s annual charity lost property auction.
Items on offer include a surfboard, a microwave, a blender, musical instruments including guitars, a bike and a scooter and the usual smartphones, tablets, cameras, designer handbags, sunglasses and fragrances.
Sydney Airport general manager of corporate affairs Sally Fielke said thousands of items were left unclaimed at the airport each year.
“Last year’s auction raised more than $130,000 for charity, which went to a number of worthwhile charities and initiatives and we’re hoping to raise more this year,” she said.
The online auction will run November 4-14.
Pickles Auctions Australia will hold a viewing day on Wednesday November 5 at its Milperra warehouse.
Bidding on each item will start at $1, with descriptions and photos on the Pickles website.
