WITH less then a week to go before The Shire reality hits Australian television screens, Network Ten have introduced some new cast members in the lead up to the premiere.
Viewers got a taste of what to expect with two promotional clips uploaded to YouTube and were aired during Being Lara Bingle on Tuesday night.
One short snippet showed two girls, introduced as Vernesa and Sophie, discussing how they love ‘‘looking fake’’.
The other clip featured an aspiring rapper Rif Raf sampling some of his lyrics with a friend.
But a handful of people were quick to jump online to question whether these cast members were really from the shire.
One person wrote on the official Facebook page of The Shire: ‘‘Are they actually from the shire?? Not your typical shire girl.’’
Another comment said the clip of Vernesa and Sophie was embarrassing and too scripted but did hope the show went well.
Someone else even posted that they would prefer to see real girls from the shire like Tegan and Kerry, referring to two cast members featured in the first promotional clip.
The Shire will premiere on Channel Ten at 8pm on Monday, July 16.
