IT IS fun, free, entertaining and has finished for the time being, but will be back in time for the next school holidays.
The Kids’ Creative Space at Sydney Opera House is one of the best free activities The Hungry Mum household has ever been to.
It is simply a space in the western foyer of the Opera House which has been decked out with everything a child could want in order to create a masterpiece: paper, colouring-in sheets, stickers, crayons, scraps of paper and so much more. It is staffed by schoolteachers who help the children, or the little artists can just glue and draw and colour to their heart’s content.
Each day a different performer entertains the kids, and the day we visited it was a man and cheeky puppet who sparked a frenzy of audience participation.
It’s completely free, with a multimillion dollar view out the window.
The Hungry Dad and I parked on a nearby comfy couch and grabbed a coffee while Miss 4 created little masterpieces.
There are no bookings, no time limits, no tickets; just turn up. The bad news is you’ll have to wait until September 24 to check it out.
