A SMALL private funeral was held today for Talin Hawkins, who died last Tuesday, 13 weeks after he was diagnosed with a brain tumour.
About 100 family and friends were expected to attend the service in honour of Talin, 6, whose story touched thousands of hearts.
More than 50,000 Facebook users have liked the pages set up by his parents to document his battle with an inoperable brain stem tumour.
Thousands of messages have been posted on the pages and on the Leader website since his death.
Gymea Bay Public School, where Talin attended kindergarten, held a memorial service last Friday; white balloons were released into the sky.
Talin's family is planning to hold a public memorial service in coming weeks.
